Why Nestwise Education?

Work with an experienced educator & EAL/D specialist consultant with over a decade of experience supporting multilingual learners in Victorian school settings.

Hi, I’m Amity.

I've spent over a decade working inside mainstream EAL and New Arrivals programs, supporting some of the most linguistically diverse and newly arrived students in Victorian schools, including years as a Leading Teacher of Outreach for New Arrivals and a Learning Specialist for EAL/Literacy.

I now work as an independent education consultant through Nestwise Education, partnering with schools and educators to strengthen inclusive, evidence-based teaching and learning for EAL/D students. My focus is practical: helping teachers build the knowledge, skills and strategies to genuinely support every learner in their classroom, without adding to an already demanding workload.

I'm also a graduate researcher, working at the intersection of the Science of Reading and EAL/D instruction. That research lens sits underneath everything I do, because the best support for EAL/D learners has to be grounded in the evidence, not just good intentions.

I started this work because I kept seeing the same gap: teachers who cared about their students, but had never been given the tools to support them well. That gap is what Nestwise Education exists to close.
